Message from the Dean
Yokohama National University (YNU) has four principles, “be active,” “be innovative,” “be open,” and “be global.” The purpose of the Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences is to create sustainable society under the four principles, and for the purpose, our graduate school is conducting education and research in interdisciplinary areas related to the areas of environment science and information science.
Various areas related to environment and information sciences include important topics such as Society 5.0, SDGs, and risk symbiotics for developing sustainable society for future. Our graduate school is promoting interdisciplinary collaboration or fusion with developing environment and information sciences and their related areas for resolving various challenges in society. The education and research in interdisciplinary areas would become increasingly important to resolve challenges in society as illustrated by the following: develop technology from science and engineering by taking into account its harmony to society from humanities and social sciences.
All colleges and graduate schools of YNU are on the same campus in Yokohama, a city open to the world. The Graduate School of Environment and Information Sciences cultivates talented individuals who can resolve challenges with broad insight and global vision and smoothly communicate with people across different fields, in cooperation with other colleges and graduate schools of YNU.
